Share this message to instruct your community on how to ask for help evacuating

If needed, how to ask for or offer help evacuating
🚗 If you ever need to evacuate, do you have a neighbor who could give you a ride — or do you know if a neighbor near you might need one?
The best time to figure that out is right now, before an emergency.
Two ways to start the conversation:
→ Knock on their door. Introduce yourself and tell them you're working on your emergency plan. Ask if they'd be willing to exchange numbers and look out for each other if evacuation is ever needed. Simple, direct, and it works.
→ Post on Nextdoor. Let neighbors know you can offer a ride or that you'll need one. Copy and paste this link into your browser to open the Nextdoor composer and describe your situation in detail:  https://nextdoor.com/news_feed/?open_composer=true&hashtag=neighborhelp 
While you're talking to neighbors, make sure they're on Nextdoor — if not, invite them to join so they can receive updates directly from local public agencies:  https://nextdoor.com/agency/feed
