Fire is fast! Once the smoke alarm sounds, you could have less than 2 minutes to get out safely. Working smoke alarms give you early warning so you can get outside quickly, and they cut the risk of dying in a home fire by half. Protect what matters most!

✅ Smoke alarms should be installed on every level of the home, outside each sleeping area, and inside each bedroom. For the best protection, interconnect all the smoke alarms so that if one sounds, they all sound. 

👉 Test your smoke alarms at least once a month. Press the test button to ensure the alarm is working. Then, follow the manufacturer's instructions for cleaning. 

⏰ Age matters when it comes to smoke alarms. All smoke alarms need to be replaced when they are 10 years old or if they don't respond when tested.

🫨 Make sure smoke alarms meet the needs of all family members, including those with sensory and physical disabilities.
