A suggested post to share on Nextdoor for Public Agencies to encourage neighbors to shovel out fire hydrants and and accessible parking spots

Poll: Are the accessible parking spots and fire hydrants near you clear of snow?

Poll question: Are the accessible parking spots and fire hydrants near you clear of snow?

Poll options:

  1. I will check to see
  2. Yes, parking spots and fire hydrants near me are clear of snow
  3. No, they are not, and I am unable to clear them at this time
  4. No, they are not; I will do my best to clear them
  5. Other (please leave a comment)

Poll description: Snowstorms can be stressful for neighbors who need accessible parking spaces. Those who use these spots often cannot shovel snow. If they are parked in an accessible space when it snows, they cannot get out. When they return to their spot after a snowfall, they may be unable to park there.

If you have any steam left, consider shoveling out:

→ Curb cuts

→ Storm drains

→ Bus stops
