Are you sure your garage is as secure as it can be?

It’s easy to be distracted when you leave early in the morning or come home after a hard day at work, but this is the time you’re most likely to leave your garage insecure.

Leaving your garage door open is the easiest way for someone to gain access to your home. Make sure you shut the garage door whenever you leave or come home.

Here are some simple tips on keeping your home safe by paying attention to garage security

👍 Always keep your garage door shut, even when you are home

👍 Install a light so you can see if there is anything or anyone that shouldn’t be there

👍 Don’t leave your door remote in your car

👍 Block or frost the windows so others can’t see in

👍 Don’t store valuable or sentimental items in your garage

👍 Always check your insurance policy - make sure it covers garage contents and damage

👍 Use a zip tie to stop someone from accessing the release with a coat hanger. See the image above.
