Tips to help your community prepare for the possible snarls they may encounter from visitors viewing the eclipse

Are you prepared for the total solar eclipse on Monday, April 8th?
Given that our community is in the path of totality for the solar eclipse on April 8th, we're expecting A LOT of visitors to the area.
Before the weekend of the eclipse, we recommend you:
💊 Get groceries and medicine you may need
⛽ Fill up your vehicle with gas
📱 Have multiple ways (mobile phone, TV, radio, FEMA app) to receive weather and safety alerts and keep your phone charged
🚗 Traffic may become heavy or worse on the day of the event. If you don't have to drive, it's best to take public transportation, walk, or stay home.
🚦 If you must drive, give yourself a lot of extra time, ensure your gas tank is complete, and have water, snacks, and appropriate clothing for the weather that day in case you get snarled in Traffic.
As a reminder, according to NASA, except during the brief total phase of a total solar eclipse, when the Moon completely blocks the Sun's bright face, it is only safe to look directly at the Sun with specialized eye protection for solar viewing that meets the ISO 12312-2 Standard for Solar Viewers.
You can find a list of suppliers of safe solar viewers & filters by the American Astrological Society here - https://eclipse.aas.org/eye-safety/viewers-filters
Viewing any part of the bright Sun through a camera lens, binoculars, or a telescope without a special-purpose solar filter secured over the front of the optics will instantly cause severe eye injury.
