We're thrilled to announce significant enhancements to Nextdoor for Public Agencies, designed to improve situational awareness and strengthen community connections.
New viewing and engagement options
We've updated the "Viewing posts from your agency" section on your Nextdoor public agency page to provide a more comprehensive view of local information. Located just below the four post types, this area now includes four dedicated tabs:
- My Agency: Easily manage and review your agency's posts in one centralized location.
- Agencies in my jurisdiction: View and engage with content from other agencies within your operational area.
- All nearby agencies: Monitor posts from neighboring Nextdoor agencies and alerting partners in your broader region.
- All nearby news publishers: Stay informed with local news and information from vetted local publishers.
Guidance & benefits
- Gain situational awareness to understand what is being shared on Nextdoor by other organizations and partners by reviewing content from other public agencies, alert partners, and news publishers
- Offer missing context to complete the full picture by commenting on posts
- Provide helpful updates to keep neighbors informed by commenting on posts
- Provide official perspective to reduce anxiety and fear, or to share facts by commenting on posts
- Repost important content to amplify reach and reinforce credibility by clicking share and then selecting "Repost."
